STEEL WALKWAYS
The Bahrain LNG Import Terminal was developed to support the Kingdom of Bahrain’s increasing demand for natural gas for industrial and urban development. The marine infrastructure included a double-berth jetty for FSU and LNG carriers, protected by an approximately 500 m long and 15 m deep breakwater.
The LNG terminal was located approximately 4.3 km northeast of the Muharraq Sewage Treatment Plant and included approximately 4 km of subsea pipeline and 6 km of onshore high-pressure gas pipeline, connecting the offshore facilities to the onshore infrastructure.
SCOPE
CiABIM collaborated with the design department of BESIX Dubai on the engineering of four steel walkways installed within the berth jetty.
Our scope included the steel connection design and BIM coordination of the walkways, together with support for steel detailing and the preparation of the corresponding material reports.
