ROTTERDAM SITE DEVELOPMENT-EXPANSION REFINERY ``NESTE NETHERLANDS B.V.``
The project includes the fabrication and the installation of piperacks, process buildings & shelter for the expansion of NESTE’s refinery, a global leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, in the Netherlands. Our partner SOFMAN was awarded with the connection design, the detailing, the fabrication, the hot dip galvanization, the protective fireproofing, the transportation and the installation of steel structures and panels. We were involved in the steel connection desing and the BIM design (LOD5000). The total weight of the steel elements constructed was 2.100 tons. The installation of the steel structures was the most demanding element of the project due to the particularly high safety and quality standards.
POSITION
We cooperate with the design department of SOFMAN, as we were awarded with the scope of the steel connection design. Our main concern was not only the calculation design of the steel connections but also the BIM interaction in terms of clash check with all the mechanical equipment. We create a full detailed Tekla Structures model (LOD500), in which all the design team had access through the model sharing process of Trimble.
