IBA MATURATION BUILDING ``DUBAI WASTE MANAGEMENT CENTER``
The Dubai Waste Management Center is a major Waste-to-Energy facility developed to process approximately 1.9 million tonnes of municipal solid waste per year while generating renewable electricity.
The project, led by Dubai Municipality, is located at the former Warsan landfill site and comprises one of the largest Waste-to-Energy facilities of its kind.
The facility was developed in collaboration between Dubai Municipality, Hitachi Zosen Inova and BESIX, involving extensive multidisciplinary coordination and demanding civil and structural engineering requirements.
SCOPE
CiABIM was appointed by BESIX Dubai to support the ECI Civil Design of the IBA Maturation Building. The structure comprised three steelwork sectors, with spans of approximately 32 m in both principal directions.
CiABIM’s scope included the development of structural analysis models in RFEM for both the foundations and the steel superstructure. A Tekla Structures BIM model (LOD 200) was also developed to support the ECI design stage and facilitate structural coordination throughout the design process.
