''THE OVAL LIMASSOL'' STEEL CLADDING PROJECT
The Oval is a landmark 16-storey commercial building on the Limassol coastline, offering panoramic views across the Mediterranean and featuring a distinctive architectural envelope.
Designed by Atkins and developed by Cybarco, the building incorporates two underground parking levels and was developed to high environmental and energy-performance standards. Its complex geometry and architectural requirements demanded a carefully coordinated approach to the design and detailing of the steel cladding support system.
SCOPE
CiABIM collaborated with DAE S.A., the main designer of the steel cladding, supporting the steel connection design and the development of the Tekla Structures model for the cladding steelwork.
Throughout the project, close coordination with the steel fabricator supported the resolution of constructability issues and the development of fabrication-ready information. General Arrangement drawings and material take-off (MTO) reports were generated directly from the coordinated BIM model.
The project was also officially presented by Mr. Ioannis Angelopoulos at the 9th Hellenic National Conference on Steel Structures, held in Larissa in October 2017.
