INDUSTRIAL-MINING PROJECTS WITH DAE S.A.
Olympias industry is an old-age existing mining factory. ELDORADO ‘s enormous investments in Greece’s mining industry introduce a very complex project for every aspect of civil and mechanical engineering field in Greece.
The project is divided into two specific phases of design and construction.
The first phase includes renovating existing buildings and upgrading mechanical equipment.
The second phase deals with the totally new part of the industry that will support the existing one . This phase includes brand new platforms, conveyors and steel buildings.

About the project “ELDORADO METAL AND GOLD INDUSTRY AT SKOURIES, CHALKIDIKI”
Skouries’ new mining industry is the biggest and most environmental friendly factory in Greece. It is a 4.000.000m2 facility with new buildings, platforms, conveyors and geotechnical structures.
ELDORADO ‘s investment is based on the important factor of recycling all mining products in order to maintain profits from mining process. At the same time, they keep all the necessary safety rules for the factory’s employees and they respect the environment.
The project is extremely complex, not only because of the combination of geotechnical, mechanical and civil structures but also because it was stopped and has restarted many times, due to the environmental restrictions in the area.

About the project “EDISON 421.6 MW COMBINED CYCLE ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION STATION AT THE ‘’THISVI’’ INDUSTRIAL AREA”
Combined Cycle Power Plant at Thisvi, Viotia with maximum capacity 421.6MW running on natural gas. It also includes a 400KV substation and high voltage transmission power – line. The plot area is 101.120m2, while the superstructures and substructures cover approximately 24.000m2.
The detailed design was carried out on behalf of the construction joint venture (EDISON, AKTOR) and refers to all civil engineering works of the plant (buildings, foundations, equipment bases and supports, pipe racks, underground installations and networks, roads and paving and landscaping).
850 drawings and calculations reports were issued, while all Tekla Structures models were prepared in order to help the steel fabricator achieve the best possible results.

We collaborate with the main designer of the project (DAE S.A.) in the following aspects.
- Overall participation in the design of the project’s individual structures (building facilities, equipment supporting platforms, pipe-racks, conveyor belts) using the software Tekla Structures.
- Constructability services to the steel structure fabricators both at the pre-construction and the erection phases. Analytical reports regarding M.T.O. and general arrangement drawings were exported from the Tekla models.
- Participation in the steel connections calculations, using the software tools EC.3 PRAXIS, STEEL CONNECT SOFISTIK and IDEA StatiCa.
